Kids Ramadan Challenge 2023
After the Ramadan Journal in 2021 and the Ramadan Advent Calendar last year, this year we had a brand new Ramadan Map Challenge!
Students raced to work out the secret mission each week, using the the decoder, the story chapter and the Ad-Duha website.
They would then follow the instructions to form a craft/complete a task relating to the teachings of Ramadan and send a picture to mark their entries.
Tasks included: Memorising Dua for openeing and closing the fast, preparing food for and feeding a fasting person, raising funds for and donating to a charity and building a model Masjid.
Alhamdulillah we had many, many beautiful, inspiring and thoughtful entries submitted throughout the blessed month.
All entries were uploaded to our Instagram page.
Entries were then judged internally to decide on the winners of the challenge.
May Allah s.w.t reward all the children for their efforts throughout the month and increase them further in goodness.
Kids Fun Week
This Ramadan, kids at Ad-Duha enjoyed ‘Fun week’ with various team building activities such as: Rocket building, Penalty shootouts, Bowling, baseball and much more!
All groups tried their very best with some taking home the trophy and everyone winning treats.
At the end, everyone enjoyed the interactive storytime of the life of Prophet Yusuf a.s and took home their goodie bags.
Fundraising by the Lions
Alhamdulillah the fundraiser for Turkey and Syria organised by the “Lions of Adduha” youth club was a great success.
This was organised, planned and run completely independently by this group of 11 boys aged between 14 and 16.
They each had tasks ranging from contacting suppliers, getting a speaker system, finding sponsors, making the poster, organising food, sweets, drinks and running the stalls.
The funds were collected by GRT who already had a team on the ground.
There was also a barbecue held simultaneously to satiate those appetites.
