EDUCATION

Maktab Classes: Respecting the Elderly

This month our Maktab students have been learning about elders as a central part of our community and the importance of respecting and looking after them. For week 1, they listened carefully to a story about valuing our elders and for homework they researched Ahadith about this topic.

For week 2, students contacted their grandparents and took an interview. They asked them questions about their childhood, their life experience, what inspires them about Islam and a message they have for the youth today.

To wrap up the topic, students were assigned the task of making a world map labelling where their relatives live across the world.

Alhamdulillah, students enjoyed learning more about their relatives and benefitted from engaging with grandparents this month.
